Mascots, also called brand characters, serve as an ambassador of a brand or a company.

Brand characters make brands distinctive, recognizable and memorable. They also give you endless possibilities to create visual content online. You can put them in various situations, change their mood and clothes. You can even let them communicate with your audience directly.

Imagine if people can recognize your brand at a glance just from a single image!

However, creating such a powerful mascot is not an easy task.

A mascot is more of a branding strategy creation than a design piece.

This is why we don’t just design brand characters.

We design distinctive mascots, based on research, and help you transform the character into an ambassador of your company.

What we do

We help you create the concept of your mascot, taking into account your specific audience and analyzing the mascot strategies in your industry.

We design your vector character and all additional elements you need, such as additional poses, facial expressions, backgrounds, etc.

We help you integrate your mascot into your branding and visual strategy based on what works best for your specific business.

Mascot design process

Step 1: creating the concept of your mascot

If the character is going to speak for you, you have to choose it well. Brand characters can be people, animals, or even objects. If you are still not sure, don’t worry just contact us and we’ll help you out!

You can also check out the article we’ve created to help you out deciding which type of mascot will best fit your business.

To get the full potential of your character you should make it part of your content strategy. Every business has different needs and the line between the great mascot and a cheesy cartoon can be easily crossed. You need to know how your audience will respond to your character and analyze the success and the mistakes of other brands in the past.

We take into account your specific audience, what type of character would fit.# We analyze the content strategy of brand characters in your industry: types of characters and styles, how they use their brand characters.

We help you integrate your mascot into your branding and visual strategy.

Step 2: Sketching

We will create several sketches that you can choose from.

During this sketch phase, we can make any changes. This way we can experiment and find what suits the brand best.

We will proceed to the digital version when you are 100% happy with the design concept.

Step 3: Make it digital

We will create a scalable vector image based on the sketch, which means that you can later easily add it to illustrations, scale it however you want or change small details like colors easily.

Finally, we choose the colors of your character and add the details and shadows.

Once the mascot design is finalized, we provide you with AI or SVG vector files, as well as raster PNG and JPEG file formats. The raster files can be directly used on your website, social media or anywhere you need.

Step 4: Building Your Mascot Strategy

We will prepare a Visual Strategy for your brand.

The strategy will help you plan how and where to use your character on your website, social media and any kind of marketing materials.

It is a handbook on how to use your mascot to promote your brand.

Step 5 (Optional): get additional Poses, Emotions, and outfits!

Brand Mascot Design Poses, Business Donkey with briefcase and flipchart

To harvest the full potential of your character you need to make it alive. Having different variations of your character such as emotions, actions and outfits gives you the freedom to put the character in various contexts on your website, blog and social media!

  1. Poses
Making your character doing different things is the key to bringing life into it. The options are infinite – working on a computer, talking on the phone or going on a vacay. Hint: Make your character perform an action, with a hint of humor, that your audience can relate to will make your content go viral!
  2. Items
You can also have additional items like the flipchart and the briefcase above. They are usually used as part of the poses, but can also be used separately.
  3. Facial Expressions
One of the things that make mascots look alive are emotions. Happy, sad, angry or amazed – you name it, we draw it!
  4. Outfits
Surprise your audience with different outfits and costumes for holidays like Christmas and Halloween.
  5. Backgrounds
It’s time to put your character in a situation. The backgrounds are also vectors. We build them in a specific way so that you can later put your character in different poses, and so create different scenes.

“I’ve always wanted to see myself as a cartoon character. I was amazed when I saw my avatar finished. It looks just like me! I can’t wait to use it on my website, stickers and business cards! The avatar will make them so unique and catchy!”

“It is really important to use a personal approach to clients in my work. The only way to attract their attention during the first contact is to present myself in a unique way and my avatar made my business cards look so interesting to the clients. I haven’t believed it is possible to represent a face so accurately as a cartoon, but Victoria managed to capture all my facial features, the shape of my face and the eyebrows. It went far beyond my expectations.”

“I got my avatar as a gift and when I first saw it, I couldn’t belive someone managed to draw my face in such incredible detail! The wrinkles and dimples around my mouth and nose were so accurate that my friends could recognize it was me only by looking at the lower part of the avatar’s face. The only problem with my avatar is that I recently dyed my hair black so I will surely be getting an updated version in the near future!”
